Championing an inclusive workplace
At PepsiCo SA we believe that an inclusive culture that recognizes and values the unique attributes and experiences of every employee is critical to the sustainable growth of our business. That's why Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) is a strategic priority for us.
Our DE&I strategy is based on celebrating the unique and individual differences of each employee; including those that are visible and invisible, such as backgrounds, work styles, thought processes and experiences. Our mission is to build a culture that empowers people and enables business results where:
- Employees feel they can bring their whole self to work while knowing their contributions and past experiences are valued.
- Employees are engaged and inspired to drive business results.
- We attract and retain the best talent, and
- Our workforce reflects the diversity of our communities.
Increasing the skills of our employees is crucial for business success in a competitive global economy. Our robust training and development programs, which include PepsiCo University and local/functional initiatives, help our associates develop the job-related skills needed to drive innovation and growth for the future. PepsiCo University offers learning solutions focused on building people skills, managerial and technical skills.
Through the Development Fund, we will invest R200 million in education including scholarships for previously disadvantaged individuals acquiring qualifications or skills that contribute to transforming the South African food system. We also launched Graduate and Future Leaders Programmes to support development and education opportunities in South Africa.
